Thoughts on Serverus Snape, Prince's Tale, James Potter, and all that jazz.
Before I say anything at all, let me just say, I cried/cry buckets when I read The Prince's Tale.
I want to be honest, and these are my thoughts. Wow, this is going to be CONTROVERSIAL. So here it is...
I found myself liking Snape less, and less, and now, I really don't like him.
I know, I know, he's really brave, and we all feel really sorry for him(I admit I do feel absolutely terrible for him), but he wasn't a nice person. At all. I love him as a character, but I wouldn't necessarily want to meet him.
Remember when James saved Snape's life? What if it had been the other way around? What if James was the one about to die/be bitten by a werewolf? Snape wouldn't of risked his own life to save James's life. Despite the fact that James hated Snape, he still risked his own life to save Snape's.
Snape only did things for himself. He only told Voldemort to spare Lily's life. He never did truly care for her husband and son, the two people she cared most about. If he cared enough about her, he would've wanted her to be happy. What if James and Harry died, and Lily lived? What did Snape think was going to happen?
Even after Lily and James had died, Snape never really cared for Harry. He loathed him. The only thing that kept him from strangling Harry was his eyes. Snape was downright mean to Harry, gave him rubbish marks, humiliated Harry, threw a jar of dead cockroaches at him, docked countless points from Harry(sometimes for no reason, remember when he made up that rule about library books being outside?), and the list could go on forever.
You're really either a Lily/Snape shipper or a Lily/James shipper. I've been a Lily/James shipper since 382 BC. Not really, but y'know. I've always wanted to know what the hell James did to make Lily fall in love with him since I read Snape's Worst Memory in Order of the Phoenix.
There's a reason Lily didn't reciprocate Snape's feelings for her. It was because of how he turned evil. He killed people. He worked for You-Know-Who. Snape fell in love with Lily, but he knew she would disapprove of his becoming a death eater, calling people mudbloods(not to mention that she, herself, is muggleborn), killing people... I think that if he didn't do all those things, she might of loved him back.
James deserves all the recognition that Severus Snape gets, if not, more. I have no idea why everyone hates him. Sure he was an arrogant, bullying toe rag when he was fifteen, sixteen, but you know what? The last girl who called him that, married him.
