Very Blustery Day

I was in third period, which was music class, but since almost everyone including the teacher was gone on the band trip, we were watching a movie(Ray). The credits began to roll, and then, the T.V. turns off. Being my clueless self, I though someone had simply turned off the T.V. Little did I know that this was the start of a power outage that would last hours.

I live in Ottawa. It's a sleepy little town, and not many people have heard of it even though it's the capital of Canada. Nothing ever happens here. There's the occasional earthquake and everyone goes around asking if you've felt it, but nothing gets destroyed. Yesterday and today, however, were different. There were tornado warnings, which is crazy. That's never happened.

Since my school is strange, we have first period, second period, third period, lunch, fourth period, then we are free to go home. Anyways, the school was dark and dingy at lunch, we have emergency lights, there's really only a few of those, so I went outside. Sometimes, I felt like the wind was blowing me backwards, and it was tough to walk. My hair was flying in every which way, and I could hardly see anything because of it covering my eyes. At fourth period(english class), I was in a portable classroom, half my class was gone on the band trip to Banff, Alberta, so we went outside and sat around for seventy five miuntes, until the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day.

As I was walking home today, I went through a forest path as usual, and I saw a couple trees, maybe 4 to 5, completely uprooted! Shingles had flown off the roofs of houses, and the power was out for half the day at school. Insanity.

Weather: well, it was cold this morning, then started pouring rain, and then it proceeded to a short lived hailstorm. After that, the wind went insane and caused all sorts of panic and trouble for everyone.
Mood: happy, ...our breathes smelled of cigarettes and alcohol, we walked down the beach counting every star, our hearts beat inside our chests, leaving us gasping for every breath... ♪ love this song. ♥
